Xerox continuous feed system combines power of colour with economics of black-and-white - at the same time on the same paper

UXBRIDGE – Xerox’s new Continuous Feed 4-over-1 Solution maintains the impact of full colour with the economics of black-and-white in a high-speed system built for production print jobs. Combining the power of the Xerox 490™ Colour Continuous Feed Printer with the monochrome Xerox 650™ Continuous Feed Printer, this solution is designed for transpromotional applications – documents that provide transactional and promotional information based on the recipients’ previous purchase habits. The solution provides another innovative way to transition into colour for traditional black-and-white bills and statements. Users benefit from adding full-colour marketing messages on one side and from the lower cost of printing content – like terms and conditions and activity details – in black-and-white. Based on InfoTrends research, 95 percent of consumers open and read the bills and statements they receive in the mail. These same consumers spend an average of two to three minutes reviewing each statement, and 20 percent of them spend five minutes or more. With this level of attention, transaction documents represent a valuable customer touch point.1 A leading financial services company will install and test the Xerox Continuous Feed 4-over-1 Solution later this year. A limited global product launch is planned for early 2010. “This latest breakthrough provides the right blend of colour, speed and image quality to help transform costly, routine communications into high-impact promotional documents,” said Eric Armour, president, Global Business Group, Xerox Corporation. “It reinforces Xerox’s commitment to invest in and deliver continuous feed innovations to the marketplace.” Taking advantage of Xerox’s innovative and proprietary flash fusing technology, the solution uses a micro-burst of light to heat only the toner and not the paper, resulting in better print image quality and greater substrate flexibility. Flash fusing also eliminates the need for fuser oi

Xerox brings even more colour power to the office with the Phaser 7500 and Phaser 6121MFP

UXBRIDGE – Xerox today announced two powerful new colour products for the office environment: the Xerox Phaser 7500 A3 colour laser printer and the Xerox Phaser 6121MFP, A4 colour multifunction printer. The Xerox Phaser® 7500 A3 colour printer is designed for the office environment where on-demand, high-volume colour printing is a must. Printing at up to 35 pages per minute, the Phaser 7500 allows companies to do in-house printing of documents that require high quality and fast turnaround – thus cutting costs on print jobs that might previously have been outsourced. With features such as automatic two-sided printing, booklet printing and collation, the device produces professional-looking manuals, newsletters, and reports. The Phaser 7500 also has support for up to SRA3 paper and heavy media for full-bleed prints, making it ideal for posters, brochures and business cards. “Xerox continues to bring the power of colour to more and more offices around the world,” said Malcolm Glynn, Office Marketing Manager, Xerox UK. “The Phaser 7500 is robust enough to handle short-run, professional-quality colour print jobs, and compact enough to fit into a busy office.” The printer features a unique, colour-matching technology called Colour by Words that uses words to define colour. The patented Colour by Words technology makes it easy to specify and change colours on printed documents. For example, users simply select the desired colour modifications from a drop-down list – such as “pale green colours a lot more green” or “red colours a lot more saturated” – and the image is automatically adjusted. With Colour by Words, everyone from a graphic designer to the part-time PowerPoint user can get the right colour and vibrant prints the first time. Prices for the Phaser 7500 colour printer start from £2,699. It uses EA-HG toner and incorporates enhanced HiQ LED technology, which delivers 1200x1200dpi image quality, better registration and smoother lines on images and

Xerox improves Tesco's environmental footprint

UXBRIDGE – Tesco, the world’s third largest retailer, has announced that as part of its continued commitment to be an environmentally-responsible business, it has invested in the world’s first high-speed solid ink office multifunction printer. The installation of six Xerox ColorQube 9200 multifunction systems at Tesco’s Personal Finance supermarket banking division’s new headquarters in Scotland is Europe’s first customer installation of this breakthrough new device. The Xerox ColorQube’s cartridge-free design and new print head technology means that it cuts greenhouse emissions significantly and can reduce lifecycle energy consumption by nine percent. As a result, the Xerox ColorQube system provides real environmental benefits to Tesco Personal Finance’s new offices and will help set the benchmark for new Tesco offices in the future. Nick Folkes, IT Director, Infrastructure and Operations, Tesco Stores Limited said, “Climate change is one of the biggest challenges facing us today and, at Tesco, we have a responsibility to provide leadership. Our move to new headquarters in Edinburgh gave us the opportunity to have the most eco friendly office possible and therefore required office devices that reduced our carbon footprint. The Xerox ColorQube’s environmental credentials made it extremely attractive to use as it fitted firmly with Tesco’s Community Plan - our programme to put social and environmental issues at the heart of our business. ”Now that the Xerox devices are in place, we are closely monitoring the success of the machines both from a Corporate and Social Responsibility (CSR) and cost perspective. We hope that the rollout undertaken by Tesco Personal Finance will act as a blueprint for Tesco corporate offices in the future,” Nick Folkes added. Tesco’s office move saw the supermarket bank consolidate its office equipment and reduce its total cost of ownership. This was achieved by moving away from stand-alone printers, faxes and scanners and ins

Xerox to bring world's most productive full-colour, cut-sheet digital press to market

UXBRIDGE – Xerox will soon add the world’s most productive cut-sheet digital colour press to its industry-leading portfolio. The Xerox iGen4™ 220 Perfecting Press features two Xerox iGen4 110 Presses running in tandem. By integrating the Xerox iGen4 110 engines in-line, the system can print 220 impressions per minute and approach a monthly print volume of up to seven million impressions. “Our customers told us turnaround time, productivity and labour costs are their major challenges,” said Eric Armour, president, Global Business Group, Xerox Corporation. “We listened and built this press to convert those challenges into opportunities.” The high-speed system delivers twice the speed and productivity with a single operator, saving time and labour. It has a smaller footprint and is more compact than two iGen4 110 presses sitting side-by-side. It also allows users to maximise their finishing equipment because one finishing device can be used to support two print engines. Customers can leverage their existing technology investment by upgrading an installed iGen4 110 press driven by Xerox’s FreeFlow® Print Server to an iGen4 220 Perfecting Press. This allows customers to take on high-volume digital colour print jobs today, then double productivity early next year when the perfecting press is ready for installation. The Xerox iGen4 220 Perfecting Press builds on the tandem architecture technology of the Xerox Nuvera® 288 Perfecting Production System, a twin-engine monochrome press. Both devices leverage the power of two print engines that are designed and managed as one. A benefit of this design is “pass through programming” that keeps the system running even if an engine needs service, providing maximum productivity and uptime. The new system comes standard with in-line spectrophotometers in each engine to provide maximum uptime and automate tasks such as calibration and press colour check. It will be driven by FreeFlow Print Server technology, in
