UXBRIDGE, U.K., Feb. 3, 2016 – Corporate learning could be transformed by using Big Data gathered from every employee touch point to create personal learning programmes that are short, consistent and more impactful to company objectives.
That is the view of Xerox Learning Solutions, which is today announcing a range of learning and performance measurement tools that allow the enterprise to integrate multiple employee touch points, such as past training performance, HR data, or instant messaging applications, into a single platform. Filtered by employee, these can be used to monitor individual progress and help individuals discover quick, helpful training solutions right at the point they’re needed.
These tools, which embrace the idea of ongoing rather than classroom learning, also incorporate wider business goals to allow managers to align individual training more directly to company performance.
The new Measurement & Analytics Practice, launched by Xerox Learning Solutions, is able to track how frequently learning materials are accessed, down to the precise page or paragraph. By analysing this performance against a wider pool of employee data, the tools can then determine the learning format preferred by that employee (video learning, peer messaging or written documents for example) list circumstances that might affect or change this decision, and recommend ways to enable discovery and reward around new training modules.
A.D. Detrick, senior consultant at Xerox Learning Solutions, said: “There is no such thing as an innate learning style. Only through detailed analysis of individual employee data can companies ensure learning programmes are having true impact on their business objectives.
“Effective learning programmes start with extensive research of a company’s business and objectives, and through Big Data, end with small pieces of knowledge delivered to and actually used by employees. This is a new way of imagining how Big Data can help design the most robust learning solutions.”
A.D. Detrick will be appearing at Learning Technologies 2016, presenting the ‘Emerging measurement strategies’ seminar between 2.45-3.15 on Thurs 4th Feb at London Olympia. Register for the event here.
