UXBRIDGE, U.K., March 20, 2012 – In the competitive world of commercial print, speed and quality cannot be considered trade-offs. To meet customer demand for a fast, flexible service that delivers offset-quality results, Berkshire-based Herald Chase Group has invested £365,000 in an iGen4 Digital Press from Xerox.
Based at Herald Chase’s 30,000-square-foot facility in Reading, the iGen4 will work alongside the existing digital and litho print fleet to make document production quick and simple for the company’s customer base, which includes some of the UK’s largest high street retailers.
“Fastest possible turnaround time without a drop in quality is the ultimate purchasing driver for our target market,” explained Justin Earl, Operations Director, Herald Chase. “In the iGen4 we have found a high-performance digital press that takes the pain out of document production for our customers, meaning they spend less time trying to plan and manage their print jobs and more time focused on their business.”
Simple service, powerful performance
As one of the first UK firms to adopt Xerox FreeFlow® Web Services – the web-based online ordering and workflow automation suite – Herald Chase can now combine the flexibility and automation of customer self-service with the performance of the iGen4 to provide a premium end-to-end customer experience.
Herald Chase’s customers simply log on to the secure Xerox FreeFlow Web Services-based customer portal and order highly personalised print jobs from anywhere in the world, 24/7. The automated system manages the order and loads it into the iGen4, resulting in high-quality output with minimal manual intervention.
Offset quality with digital flexibility
Xerox’s Matt Dry Ink technology used by the iGen4 delivers a consistent and uniform appearance across highlights, mid-tones and shadows -- critical for the ink-heavy marketing collateral typically ordered by Herald Chase’s customers.
The litho look and feel delivered by Matt Dry Ink, as well as the iGen4 having largest sheet size (364mm x 660mm) in its class make it the perfect digital complement for Herald Chase’s offset business, delivering customers the widest possible choice.
“Herald Chase’s business requirement is the sweet spot of the iGen4, where quality and performance are of equal importance,” said Mike Holyoake, general manager, Graphic Communications Operations, Xerox UK and Ireland. “We understand that customers need a fast, efficient, high-performance document production service and for print shops looking to meet that demand, the iGen4 is the ultimate tool for the job.”
