UXBRIDGE, U.K. – Collisons, sister company of Herbert Walkers, has installed a Xerox iGen® 150 Press in order to improve quality, consistency and efficiency in the production of its greetings cards and stationery.

Collisons, currently employing 25 people and established more than 100 years ago, is a leading supplier of personalised Christmas, wedding and social stationery in the U.K. It also produces own-branded Christmas cards for many small charities.

With a Xerox Colour 1000 Press already in place, Collisons sought a digital printing device that could match the quality of litho print while improving consistency over a print run.

Collisons greetings cards require the printing of a mix of images and heavy text, and the iGen 150 is able to support this through its Object Oriented Halftoning technology. This process renders images at a 180-line screen for optimal smoothness, producing images of the highest quality. Additionally, achieving this outstanding image quality is faster than ever, thanks to an imaging system that takes setup time, waste and guesswork out of the equation.

“Our customers expect us to deliver products of a consistently high quality, at a competitive price,” said Mike Lammas, manager at Collisons Ltd. “Installing the iGen 150 will enable us to meet these requirements, and as we continue to migrate more of our print runs from litho to digital we will also be able to increase efficiencies within the business.”

“Collisons has addressed its printing needs head on by introducing the iGen 150,” said Mike Holyoake, general manager, Graphic Communications Operations, Xerox U.K. “The investment will support business growth, enabling Collisons to produce more jobs and reduce costs, without compromising on print quality levels.”
