Uxbridge, U.K., 26 May, 2011 – bss, the UK’s only not-for-profit provider of contact centre, mailing, response handling and knowledge management, says the booklets and mailing pieces produced by its newly installed Xerox Colour 1000 Press are converting clients from litho print to digital, print-on-demand solutions.

“With more than 35 years of experience in the sector, we know that our clients are continually looking for ways to reduce printing, storage and management costs, whilst working to improve their environmental performance,” said Peter Calderbank, chief executive at bss. “We were attracted by the innovative technology of the Xerox Colour 1000 Press and it has helped to strengthen the new mailing, digital print and response handling operation we have recently launched in Glasgow.”

bss uses its Xerox Colour 1000 Press to produce cost-effective, single leaf or multiple page booklets for clients on demand and, in conjunction with XMPie personalisation software, high-quality mailing communications.

“Xerox customers who install the Xerox Colour 1000 Press report seeing a ripple effect across their business,” said Martin Boyle, Sales Operations Manager, Scotland & Ireland at Xerox UK. “At bss, the press has helped expand the organisation’s offerings, increase efficiency and lower running costs enabling them to focus on helping their customers improve the quality of lives and communities.”

bss’s brand new mailing, digital print and response handling operation in Cambuslang Business Park, Glasgow was officially launched by Margaret Curran MP, on 14th April, 2011.
