UXBRIDGE -- Xerox today launched the Optimizer Digital Transfer to Sage Line 50 (Optimizer), the first in a range of affordable 'shrink-wrapped' software tools designed specifically for the small and medium-sized business (SMB). Developed to integrate with business management software and services provider Sage's Line 50, Optimizer enables SMB finance departments to automate their accounting administration, thereby improving efficiency and reducing business management costs.

The software works in conjunction with Xerox's range of WorkCentre multi-function devices and captures all important documentation that comes into the company such as invoices, statements, orders, contracts and correspondence. Optimizer saves and then converts the information into text searchable PDFs, finally storing it in the relevant location in Sage Line 50. It puts an end to lost paperwork and eliminates the need to manually find a document which, according to a recent study by IDC, takes the average company worker as much as 9.5 hours per week 1 .

"Using Optimizer is like having a super-intelligent, super-organised digital filing system," said Bob Essex, UK Marketing Manager, Xerox UK Office Division.

"Optimizer enables accounts information, such as signed proofs of delivery or invoices, to be stored centrally and saved directly to the relevant customer record. This allows the finance department, as well as staff in other parts of the company, to retrieve any document relating to any customer in a matter of seconds. With the launch of Optimizer, we are delivering on our commitment to help our customers do business more easily, more profitably and more productively."

Commenting on the new Xerox product, Darren Liddell, Manager, Developers Programme, Sage said: "Our customers are always looking for ways to improve efficiency and reduce costs, and I wish Xerox every success as they seek to provide Sage customers with a simple to use, affordable digital archiving solution."
