UXBRIDGE – Xerox closed 2008 earning more than 230 industry awards, an increase of more than 20 percent over the previous year. Leading industry publications and independent testing and research firms around the world recognised Xerox office products and services for a range of attributes including image quality, performance and technical innovation.

The latest came from Buyers Laboratory Inc. (BLI), which in December awarded top honours to Xerox for outstanding colour image quality and technical innovation.

BLI, an independent testing lab, presented the company with two “Outstanding Achievement Awards” for consistently superior image quality in the colour multifunction printer (MFP) portfolio and another for innovation in print drivers. The test lab conducts intensive competitive testing on document products, comparing overall performance, productivity, reliability and ease of use, among many other critical performance factors.

“These Outstanding Achievement awards reflect our efforts to focus on what customers like, what they expect and what they need,” said Rick Dastin, president, Xerox Office Group. “We develop products that adapt to the customer—not the other way around—and the success of that philosophy is apparent.”

The Phaser 3300MFP and Phaser 3635MFP multifunction printers were also recognised by BLI with Autumn “Pick of the Year” awards. Xerox garnered a total of nine “Pick” awards for products and software solutions in the past year.

Throughout 2008, Xerox received recognition from leading independent computer and information technology organisations in more than 20 countries. Award-winning products range from software, scanners, colour printers and multifunction systems – including DocuShare, DocuMate, DocuColor, Phaser and WorkCentre lines – to high-speed digital production technology such as the Xerox iGen4™ Digital Production Press and Xerox Nuvera 100, 120, 144 and 288 Digital Production Systems.

Xerox was positioned by Gartner, Inc., in the Leaders Quadrant in the “Magic Quadrant for Managed Print Services Worldwide1” and “Magic Quadrant for MFPs and Printers2” reports. The Magic Quadrants offer visual snapshots of a market's direction, maturity and participants, in which Gartner evaluates vendors on the basis of completeness of vision and ability to execute. In addition, Better Buys for Business, an industry-recognised authority on office imaging equipment, gave an astounding 33 “Editor’s Choice” awards to Xerox products and solutions.

The company also has been recognised for knowledge management, innovation, diversity, ethics, family-friendly policies, environmental programs and leadership.

Xerox's investment in innovation has brought to market more than 100 products in the last three years, building the broadest portfolio in the industry and in Xerox's history.
