Richard Lochhead, Cabinet Secretary for Rural Affairs and the Environment in the Scottish Government said, “The Xerox Green Forum presented an opportunity for the Scottish Government to demonstrate how it will reach its zero waste target and further engage organisations to drive this strategy forward. It is encouraging to see Xerox and Standard Life taking the lead in investing in business initiatives for environmental sustainability.”
The ‘Sustaining the Future Through Document Solutions’ forum, organised by Xerox, explored how enterprises and public sector organisations can balance achieving their business goals with reducing their environmental impact by employing green purchasing policies and deploying ethical document strategies. Attended by organisations ranging from Standard Life, Royal Bank of Scotland, Scottish Widows and LloydsTSB, to the Direct Marketing Association (DMA) and environmental advisory group WRAP, the Xerox Green Forum encouraged like-minded business leaders to share best-practice knowledge and create an informal network of partnerships to drive environmental programmes.
Peter Taylor, Director and General Manager Production and Graphic Arts, Xerox UK, added, “Business sustainability is not simply about recycling but focusing on delivering sustainable commercial programmes. Such initiatives can include creating a corporate ‘green’ printing strategy. At Xerox, we understand that businesses feel the pressure to demonstrate their green credentials and we can help customers reduce the environmental impact of their document management activities while increasing profitability and productivity. ”
Anna Graham, Project Manager at the Business Environment Partnership commented, “The Xerox Green Forum could not have come at a better time as businesses, both large and small, continue to feel pressures to be more environmentally friendly. As an attendee I really enjoyed this event – it was a great format, mixing interesting presentations from industry leaders with significant networking opportunities.”
Building on the success of the Scottish event, Xerox will be hosting two more environmental forums in Dublin and the South West of England later in the year.
