UXBRIDGE -- Xerox today announced a black-and-white network laser printer packed with advanced features to help workgroups in companies of all sizes work more efficiently at a competitive price.
Starting at 670, the Xerox Phaser 4510 offers features and capabilities normally found in higher priced printers. For instance, Smart Duplex automatically detects pages that only need to be printed on one side, speeding up print time. Personal Print is a function which allows people to download jobs to their own mailbox on the printer's hard drive and then print them all at once so they don't get mixed up with colleagues' documents. With twice the standard memory of the comparably priced Hewlett-Packard LaserJet 4250, a faster 533 MHz processor, and a standard 700 sheet paper capacity, the printer tackles complex print jobs quickly.

"The Phaser 4510 is an ideal primary office printer because it's robust, intelligent and almost invisible. People don't have to think about the printer and the technology - it just gets the job done." The Phaser 4510's automatic installation has users up and running in as few as four mouse clicks. With speeds of up to 43 pages per minute and a first-page-out time as fast as 8.5 seconds, this new device is very capable of handling the printing needs of a busy office. The printer comes with "smart paper trays" that automatically sense paper size to match the print while a simple paper path reduces the number of paper jams and job interruptions. When events such as low paper or toner occur, PrintingScout™ warns users with a pop-up message on their PC. Businesses can choose from four Phaser 4510 configurations, from a basic non-network version to a full-featured version that comes with a 500-sheet output stacker and a 40 GB hard drive. The Phaser 4510 offers true 1,200 dpi resolution for sharp text and fine detail and Adobe PostScript 3.
Price and Availability
With a starting price of 670, the Xerox Phaser 4510 can be purchased through a dual-service model, either through the standard 'pay as you go' model, or through PagePack and eClick cost-per-page contracts for small to mid-sized businesses and large enterprises respectively. The product will be available immediately from Xerox resellers and distributors.
