UXBRIDGE - It's an office reality: A colleague sends a file loaded with images to the printer and the rest of the office stands in line waiting for this one print job. It's a frustrating drain on productivity. To take this frustration out of the workplace and keep office printing running, Xerox launched the WorkCentre 7346 multifunction printer.
The WorkCentre 7346 multifunction printer is the company's latest A3 colour multifunction printer (MFP) that speeds through a range of documents, from everyday business reports like Excel spreadsheets, to graphic-rich colour presentations and brochures. The system features print speeds of up to 40 pages per minute (ppm) in colour and 45 ppm in black and white, a fast 667MHz processor, 1.5 GB of memory, and a 40 GB hard drive.
While documents with complex images traditionally slow down print jobs the new Electronics For Imaging (EFI) Fiery print server for the WorkCentre 7300 series intelligently speeds up the process. As a result, the WorkCentre 7346 and print server combination are suited for offices that need to print a variety of files, such as those produced by marketing and publishing groups. In addition, the EFI Fiery print server provides easy-to-use colour management controls for ensuring colour accuracy.
"Offices of any size thrive on speed," said Bertrand Cerisier, director of marketing, Office Group, Xerox Europe. "At the same time they demand quality and affordable technology. The WorkCentre 7346 is designed to cut down the print queue so that employees can send a file to the printer, grab it and go. No wait time means more work gets done."
The WorkCentre 7346 is also equipped with tools such as Auditron and Xerox Standard Accounting, which regulate and track colour usage, giving users the ability to manage costs by choosing when, where and how much colour they need.
Security
The security features of the WorkCentre 7346 protect sensitive data at all points of vulnerability, from the device, hard drive and network, to the document itself. An audit log tracks the date and user of every job the device processes. Users can also be sure that documents remain confidential with Secure Print, a feature that allows users to enter a pin at the device before printing begins.
The WorkCentre 7346 is enabled with Xerox's Extensible Interface Platform (EIP), a web-based services platform, EIP allows independent software vendors and developers to easily create applications for multifunction systems that simplify document-intensive work processes and customise the touch screen for personalised workflows for individuals and workgroups.
The WorkCentre 7346 starts at €12,510 and the EFI Fiery print server starts at €5,200. Both are available immediately from Xerox's direct sales force and through Xerox resellers and distributors. The WorkCentre 7346 can be obtained with PagePack or eClick, cost-per-page contracts for small to midsize businesses and large enterprises respectively. These contracts include consumables, supplies and servicing to enable customers to drive overall costs down in the office through better control of running costs.
