UXBRIDGE – Xerox is expanding its black-and-white digital printing portfolio, today adding four offerings, including the fastest light production printers in the industry. The systems make it easier and more economical for print providers of all types and sizes to produce everything from brochures to customised marketing materials and statements.
The Xerox 4112/4127 Copier/Printer and Xerox 4112/4127 Enterprise Printing System are entry-level products designed for enterprises, quick and franchise printers, commercial printers and in-plant operations that require speed, functionality, ease of use, image quality and workflow flexibility often reserved for more expensive high-end black and white equipment.
“Demand for digital black and white printing is still accelerating in areas like short-run brochures, manuals and personalised statements,” said Anoush Dowlatshahi-Gordon, Director, Production Business, Xerox UK. “Always strengthening our leadership in the market, Xerox continues to deliver new products and tools that help print providers respond quickly to their customers’ needs for fast, quality black and white print jobs.”
Enhanced features in an entry-level printing system
The products help in-plant operations and print-for-pay users expand their job offerings to include workbooks and manuals, transactional statements and personalised marketing pieces. Designed for distributed print locations with limited space, the systems have a compact footprint, yet still feature extended functionality with in-line finishing capabilities.
Based on the award-winning Xerox 4110 platform, the Xerox 4112/4127 systems offer superior image quality at 2400 x 2400 dpi for printing text, graphics and pictures with extremely fine detail and tighter image registration, resulting in high-quality duplex printing. Printing at 110 or 125 pages per minute and scanning at 100 images per minute simplex or duplex, the systems give print providers unmatched print, scan and copy productivity in a light production device. The 125 ppm models are the fastest light production printers in the industry.
The products handle a wide range of media, including coated stocks. They also offer increased paper capacity for longer unattended run time and efficient production of mixed-media jobs. The 4112/4127 systems feature a new 20-sheet saddle-stitch booklet maker and folding unit for producing newsletters, brochures, course packs and workbooks. The copier/printer configuration is equipped with an integrated scanner, and users can select from three workflow options – an integrated copy/print server, optional Xerox FreeFlow Print Server or an EX Print Server, powered by Fiery. The Enterprise Printing System is a printer-only version powered by the FreeFlow Print Server, providing a distributed print solution that enables transaction and publishing workflows.
“Numerous improvements in the new Xerox 4112/4127 systems build upon the significant success that the 4110 family and its three workflow options have already had in a range of light production environments," said Jim Hamilton, Group Director, InfoTrends. "Print service providers will value the increased speed of the new models, as well as benefits such as the improved ability to handle coated stocks, tighter front-to-back registration and improved finishing.”
The Xerox 4112/4127 Copier/Printer and Xerox 4112/4127 Enterprise Printing Systems are available for order-taking in October. The products are sold through the Xerox direct sales force, indirect partners and concessionaires.
