Uxbridge, U.K., April 20th, 2011 –Architectural, engineering and construction companies, manufacturing firms and commercial print shops have an affordable new option for scanning their technical documents.

The compact new Xerox 7740 Wide Format Scan Solution employs 600x600 dpi scan resolution to ensure crisp and accurate colour and black-and-white image quality on jobs such as construction plans, electrical wiring diagrams and mapping.

With an easy-to-use interface the device can scan documents up to 40”/1016mm wide in colour at 3.3 inches per second or black and white and greyscale at 10 inches per second, all in industry standard file formats.

“Xerox is continually enhancing its wide format offerings to enable customers to get the most out of its products.” said Howard Witt, Wide Format manager, Xerox Europe. “The new Xerox 7740 is extremely easy to use and offers great image quality. It lets busy architects, engineers, manufacturers and others who need large, crisp images focus on what’s most important to them – their real business.”

The Xerox 7740 offers:
  • Productivity – High-speed scanning with automated document-width detection to minimise errors in production-scanning environments.
  • Scan Preview – Scanned images are shown in real time on the workstation. Any adjustments made are immediately processed and saved without the need to re-scan the original.
  • Colour Copying – FreeFlow® Accxes® Copy software allows the 7740 to be a full colour copying solution using any brand of network-connected colour printer, while providing full copy and scaling control.
